Steve Jobs : American Genius

Steve Jobs is the co-founder of the the world's #1 most admired company, Apple. I first came across Steve Jobs, when my mom showed me his Stanford University speech. His speech was amazing and at the same time inspiring.

So I decided to do some research about him and I came across this book, Steve Jobs: American Genius by Amanda Ziller. In this biography, the author explains Steve Jobs' life in chronological order, his achievements, what inspired him, his friends, and his difficulties.

Here are some events I like about the book: 

• Apple actually started in a garage!
• Steve Jobs wasn't the only one who started Apple, Steve Wozniak and Mike Markkula also helped with creation of Apple.
• Before Jobs created Apple, he worked for the first video gaming company, Atari.
• When Jobs wanted to travel to India, he actually had to travel to Germany first, because the person who hired him, Al Alcorn, explained that if he went to Germany and fixed the Germans gaming problems, Jobs could go to India because  the airfare from Germany to India would be cheaper.
• Jobs created Pixar Animation Studios, the first studio to create a computer animated movie, Toy Story.  

 After I read this book, I realized that Jobs' journey wasn't easy. Even though things didn't go his way, he still didn't give up. This is what is so inspiring about Steve Jobs.

Apps, I Really Like

Hello friends, thanks to Steve Jobs everybody knows about apps. But still, some people might not know about apps  (like my grandparents). App is short for application which is a software that has multiple uses and can run on web browsers ( like Google Chrome's Web Store) on computers (like the computer's iTunes Store) tablets and smartphones (App Store or Google Play Store). Apps can be used for playing games, web surfing, or other uses. Here are my favorite apps.

Chrome

Chrome app is the portable version of the computer web browser.

Minecraft  Pocket Edition

Minecraft PE  is pocket version of the popular PC game. There are 2 versions of this app. There is the Lite edition which is free and comes with some of the resources and there is the full version which includes all the resources plus with the ability to craft items.

Ski Safari

 

Ski Safari is a game which your character is called Sven and you have to prevent him from getting caught in an avalanche with help of animals, vehicles, and power ups. You even get to customize Sven in costumes and scarves!

Fruit Ninja

Fruit Ninja

Fruit Ninja is a game that involves fast reflexes because you have slice fruit and avoid bombs (Classic Mode). There are 2 versions Free and Full version. Free version only includes head on head mode in multiplayer mode and Classic Mode. Full includes 2 multiplayer modes and Arcade mode, Classic mode, and Zen Mode.

Movie Recommendations

Since I'm enjoying my summer holidays, I have plenty of time to do the things I like to do, but a busy schedule during the school year prevented me to do those. Since it is hot here, I have plenty of time to stay indoors. So my parents let me watch movies once in while and I'm going to recommend some movies I really liked to you, my friends.

Avatar 

Avatar is a story about a planet called Pandora, where beings called Na'vis live. When humans discover this planet, they decide to travel there and teach the Na'vis  their language,medicine making and more. 

So they communicate by creating  their own artificially Na'vis also known Avatars,which humans can mentally can connect with their Avatar so they can teach them. But one humans befriends one of the beings, so they tell the human to become one of them. However the humans want a special source that causes a war between the 2 beings. The human decides to fight alongside the Na'vis. But who will win in the war? Find out in Avatar.

How To Train Your Dragon

 

Meet Hiccup, a boy who is the heir to a leader of a Viking tribe. But the name Hiccup is used to name the runt of group. So to prove that he is not a runt, he traps a rare dragon called a Night Fury when his tribe is under attack by dragons. But the beast he catches lands in the forest. Hiccup tells everyone that he caught a Night Fury but no one believes him because he is a runt. So he goes into the forest to find the dragon. He finds the dragon and decides to slay it but realizes that he doesn't have the heart to kill it and he frees it instead. The beast runs away from him instantly. When he comes back from his forest trip his father enrolls him in a dragon slaying academy. In his first lesson Hiccup nearly got killed. Hiccup finds the dragon again and instead of killing it he studies it and he also calls it Toothless. While studying the dragon he learns some tricks that he uses in the academy to defeat the dragons instead of killing it.  Then Hiccup does something that nobody has done. He flew on a dragon! Then during a flight Hiccup learns of a threat to both Vikings and dragons. Will he defeat the threat? Watch How To Train Your Dragon to find out.
